4 Easy Ways to Get Started with Alcohol Awareness Classes

From Seattle, to Tampa, America is a country when alcohol and drug use is most pervasive. Most alcohol related automobile fatalities could have been avoided if the person driving had made better choices regarding their drinking or substance use. Alcohol awareness classes are typically required by anyone who has been arrested for an alcohol or drug related offense.  For minors, the course often required is called a minor in possession class.

Online classes such as these are also taken for employer requirements or for school or academic reasons.  Finding a program or knowing which live program is best can often be difficult to figure out.  Below is a short, yet comprehensive list to consider when signing up for either of these types of programs.

Here are the top 4 reasons taking Alcohol Awareness Classes online make sense:

1. Affordable. Online classes are often 1/2 the price of a live course and can be completed anytime, 24 hours a day.

2. Acceptance. Taking an online alcohol awareness or minor in possession class from a legitimate provider will help you meet a requirement or simply gain skills to better understand the issues surrounding alcohol or drug use.

3. Learn more and remember it even longer. One advantage to online courses is that you can go over the material again.  Some of us need to hear it more than once to remember it!

4. Free certificate of completion. Any quality program should be offered by licensed provider and the provider will supply a certificate of completion at the end of the class.

Its easy to procrastinate when deciding when or if you should take a class.  Don't fall victim to waiting until the last minute.  Even an online class can take time.  Short programs, such as a level 1, 8 hour class might take just a day to complete, but longer programs, such as a level 3 24 hour class will take several days at a minimum.  Allow yourself the time to really absorb the material and not feel stressed to get it done too quickly.  Although there is much research to support how effective distance learning education is, trying to complete anything hastily will not yield decent results.

A simple Google search might be the solution in locating a class near you or consider trying another search engine for results if you are not able to find a class through Google.  The most important thing is to find the right Alcohol Awareness Classes online and gain important skills today.

DUI Checkpoints Make Alcohol Awareness More Important than Ever

In Lodi, California, according to police, 478 vehicles were stopped resulting in the arrest of three DUI suspects and three arrests for outstanding warrants.

Police said this was one of many checkpoints that have been conducted in Lodi and that more are set to be conducted throughout the year. The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

DUI's make up one of the most common reasons people take alcohol awareness classes and minor in possession classes.  Typical first time offenders will be asked to take these classes as a form of diversion in lue of jail time or as part of a plea bargin.  These classes will help the participant learn skills to better understand the impact alcohol and drugs have on the themselves and others.

Alcohol Drug Class Helps Students
We recieved this email from a student at Arizona State University yesterday: "Alcohol Drug Class, I want to thank you so much for helping get through a really tough situation.  I was caught buying alcohol with fake ID 3 months ago.  At 19, I have never been in trouble with the law.  I had many charges against me and one of them was to take a Minor in Possession class (MIP Class).  I was able to take your program online and the judge in my case was thrilled that found a program that worked well for college students.  I also learned a lot more then I ever expected.  Thank you so much."

Minor in Possession Classes or Alcohol Awareness Classes Prevent Problems
This story articlulates the importance of taking classes for both prevention or to help meet an important legal requirement.  Letting a requirement lapse can create even worse legal problems.  Get signed up before it's too late.

Does Law Enforcement Needs Alcohol Awareness Training

A Nassau County deputy who heard the shots investigated and arrested a corrections officer on charges of discharging a firearm in public and using a firearm while under the influence. Nassau County Deputy R.E. Quiles reported smelling an odor of alcohol and Wilkerson said he had a drink earlier but was not intoxicated.

Law enforcement personnel are a population that is often overlooked and most at risk for alcohol abuse.  Police officers often use alcohol as a way to cope with the stress of their jobs.  It has become an tolerated and acceptable outlet amoung their peers.  Rates of alcohol addiction among law enforcement are significantly higher than that of the general population.

Alcohol awareness classes would be highly recommended to anyone currently in or seeking a career in law enforcement or corrections.
